Legends

Legends serves as an entertainment and social venue that sits on the campus of Appalachian State University. In 1997, B-GLAD (Bisexuals, Gays, and Lesbians Associated for Diversity, now known as the Sexuality and Gender Alliance, or SAGA) recognized the local popularity and fundraising opportunities that drag shows had in Boone - East Hall sponsored many drag shows in the 1990s, and the gay fraternity Delta Love Delta hosted a Miss Gay Boone pageant during this time as well. That same year, B-GLAD began hosting drag shows at Legends. The shows not only help the club raise money, but they also help to build and foster a sense of community in the area.
