Belk Library

Appalachian State University's Queer Film Series (QFS) began in 2000 when Dr. Kim Hall and Dr. Sandie Gravett decided to create a film festival that honored National Coming Out Day (October 11th). The film festival continued for 18 years until its eventual discontinuation around 2017, but the location of the festival fluctuated across this span. In 2006, Room 114 of ASU's Belk Library became the home of the QFS, remaining as such for the rest of the QFS’ run. To learn more about the QFS, see the special exhibit.
